ABOUT KLAUS KIBSGAARD

I am engaged in the area of Board, Advisory, Coaching, Mentoring, Speaking and Teaching roles.Being a very International Chairman and CEO I have a record of working with teams of people to deliver sustained growth in highly competitive industries and geographic regions. Over a period of 35 years I have earned significant experience in International Business and implementation of business strategies in particular as relates to Branding, Sales, Service, Marketing, Distribution Networks as well as Financial Services/Banking. In addition I have been rewarded with numerous Board roles including that of Chairman.My professional career started in in 1983 when I moved to Virginia, USA where I joined General Electric Mobile Communications as Finance Controller – this gave me a strong financial and management understanding. In 1989 I joined General Motors in Sales and Marketing roles and in 2002 I joined BMW AG in Senior Executive positions as CEO and Chairman of country and regional subsidiaries including BMW UK. In the UK I was a member of the Presidents Committee of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in UK). I retired from BMW in early 2019 and have now chosen to settle in the UK.My career took me to live and work in 11 different countries through which I have earned an unusual high degree of cultural experience as well as picking up ability to work in 7 languages.During a 10 years period I was based in Stockholm and heading the Northern European Region of BMW as Chairman and CEO. This included oversight of the operational business that doubled in size and reached a turnover of Euro 2 billion. Further as Chairman of BMW Northern Europe AB and BMW Financial Services Scandinavia AB important experience was earned as the banking sector is governed by FCA rules and regulations.I completed my Military Service with the elite Danish Royal Guard in 1979 whereafter I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School in 1983. At General Electric I graduated with the coveted Financial Management Program degree in 1986 followed by an MBA degree in 1988 from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland – a true life changing experience. Over the years I have participated in numerous executive training programs. In 2018 I joined a Directors Course at Stanford University, California as preparation for a future NED Board role.
