Serve as Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) to lead Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations for transportation infrastructure inspections, emergency response, and data collection, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 107 regulations and GDOT policies.− Plan, coordinate, and execute UAS missions, overseeing equipment maintenance, mission scheduling, and operational safety while providing technical expertise for data analysis and reporting.− Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAS regulations, assist GDOT personnel with FAA Part 107 certifications, and manage FAA waivers for controlled airspace operations.− Deploy for emergency response missions, develop emergency protocols, and mitigate operational and safety risks associated with UAS operations.− Evaluate and procure UAS hardware/software, integrate UAS technology into transportation planning, and manage data processing and mission planning tools.− Represent GDOT at industry events, collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, and deliver presentations to stakeholders to support UAS and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) initiatives.− Support AAM program development, including vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft integration, infrastructure planning, risk assessment, and performance analysis to advance GDOT’s transportation initiatives.
