Stratify analyses by demographics, income, health status and the geography of, and the language spoken by, patients, to assist in the identification of variations in the efficiency and quality of care •Produce economic comparison of cost among providers of health care or health care systems, while accounting for differences in costs attributable to populations served, severity of illness, subsidies for uninsured patients and recipients of Medicaid and Medicare and expenses for educating providers of health care •Perform complex econometric and statistical analysis on large databases by applying economic theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships •Provide descriptive summaries and evaluations of numeric data that are necessary in developing health policy
