ABOUT KEMPANGO LILIAN

As a young professional in international cooperation, I am passionate about implementing projects and programs to address natural resources management, and DRR and promote environmental sustainability worldwide with inclusivity. I have a background in Agricultural land use and management and a Masters in Natural Resources Management and Development. My experience includes stakeholder engagement in project initiation and implementation in areas of water resources management, Ecosystem-based Adaptation, climate change adaptation, Sustainable Forest Management, Landslides disaster risk modeling, Nature Based solutions, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. Various assignments in multidisciplinary and international environments, including GIZ, UN-FAO, and 4C services contributed to my broad sector and institutional knowledge. I hold an M.Sc. in Natural Resources Management from TH Koeln Unversity, German (Distinction) as well as a B.Sc. in Agricultural Landuse and Management from Makerere University. My Master’s thesis assessed Landslides risks using GIS in the Mount Elgon region, Uganda and developed a tailor-made portfolio of Nature-based solutions to enhance community resilience. My Masters\'s program was financed by the DAAD EPOS program. I am a good communicator and team player with high ethical and professional standards.
