WORK HISTORY
Bishop Darren L Gay, Sr - Senior Pastor @Higher Way Ministries
Petersburg, VA
OUR BELIEFS We believe that the Bible is the written inspired Word of God and is inerrant in the original writings. The Bible being the revealed Word of God is the ground and foundation from which all claims of the truth shall be substantiated.(II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:21; Heb.11:7-9)We believe that faith is acting out on the Word of God.We believe that there is only one true and living God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is a direct Person, but all of one essence and having the same nature, perfections, and attributes, and each is worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience.(Genesis 1 :1-3, 26: Matthew 3:16, 17; John 1:1, 14; John 10:30,14:26,15:26; Matthew 28:19)We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, shed His blood on Calvary in our place, was buried, rose again and ascended to the Father according to the Scriptures.(Luke 1 :26-33; Acts 2:24-25)We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.(John 14:26; Acts 1 :8; Acts 2:4)We believe in the rapture, that the dead in Christ will rise first and that those that are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet Jesus in the air.(I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
