Spark Hope Scar Revision Project connects people struggling with self-injury or violence-induced scars to free scar revision and a fresh start. By connecting participants with compassionate providers who donate their services, we help people heal from the outside in—breaking the cycles of despair and making space for deeper therapeutic healing. We believe that integrating scar revision with mental health support leads to better long-term outcomes.The International Society for the Study of Self-Injury now estimates that 30-35% of young adults (ages 11-22) globally engage in self-injury—a figure likely underreported. Despite early expectations that these numbers would decline post-pandemic, they remain alarmingly high. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), 70% of those who self-injure will attempt suicide at least once, and 55% will attempt multiple times. With these stark realities in mind, Spark Hope is committed to inspiring meaningful change by fostering healthier coping mechanisms and reducing the prevalence of self-injury. We also foster collaborative discourse with our therapist focus group and also to be a conduit for conversation for the medical scar revision providers who can share the most effective and groundbreaking techniques they have at their fingertips.To expand access to care, Spark Hope is raising capital to connect clients with cutting-edge scar revision treatments. Services are provided through a network of licensed providers, accessible via mental health professionals and direct outreach to Spark Hope.
