My dream job! Assistant Head Gardener at Floors Castle walled gardens. Working with an incredibly talented team - we are developing and evolving some areas of the gardens whilst ensuring our world famous herbaceous borders, glasshouses, roses and parterre continue to thrill and inspire visitors. Working in the gardens as well as glasshouse and propagation work.Propagation: seed sowing and vegetative propagation to ensure constant supply of plants for gardens whilst also ensuring our rare plants are preserved and available in limited quantities for sale. Pruning: heritage fruit trees, roses, wisteria, various wall climbers.Herbaceous border maintenance and development: weeding, maintaining and evolving Spring, Summer, Hot Borders as well as the Tapestry Garden - adding to, editing and evolving borders to better suit climate changes to ensure we meet the challenges without sacrificing the beauty of the borders.Kitchen Garden/Potager: no-dig programme has started and our new kitchen garden plans are being worked on for 2023.
