ABOUT KATARZYNA GRUDZIEŃ

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a CEO, a mayor of a town or an officer of national authorities, the days of operating business only for profit and administering small and large-scale communities in complete separation from business are gone. The condition of the world we live in requires joint efforts on the part of multiple stakeholders, as we all are responsible for the #protection of environment,#rational use of natural resources and #preventing further pollution. While some time ago #Corporate Social Responsibility used to be a voluntary approach assumed by corporate entities or administrations as a trendy thing to showcase in annual reports, the international institutions have learned to recognise its importance and started complex initiatives (e.g.#Sustainable Development Goals by #UN or #European Green Deal) facilitating to all involved entities transform the mode they operate to reimagine and reshape our future.#ESG practices are crucial for the success in the modern world – with a growing number of environmentally- and ethically-aware consumers and employees, but also citizens – residents of cities and villages, it becomes a priority to demonstrate that business and administration take interest and have the right mind-set to get involved in the in-depth #transformation of both economies and societies. The benefits of ESG are several and all organisations – public and private – should make an effort to adopt it. Apart from such takeaways as bolstering image and building good brand, it drives innovations, fosters trust and transparency and boosts profitability, ensuring competitive advantage. A socially responsible company is also a more positive place to work, it embraces #diversity and #inclusion and encourages personal and professional growth. The public sector has a critical role in the accomplishment of goals defined to address #global challenges – it can create environment in which responsible business can thrive. National and local governments (via adopted provisions) can inspire and support these entrepreneurs that reduce environmental and social costs and impact, yet maintaining economic gains.
