ABOUT KATALIN DOBIÁS
I am a Principal Consultant at Ecorys working closely with the EU institutions and a range of stakeholders across sectors on EU-wide studies, evaluations and impact assessments. Previously, as a Senior Legal Advisor at Milieu Law & Policy Consulting SRL in Brussels, I conducted and managed multi-country studies, compliance assessments and stakeholder consultations as well as developed trainings for a range of clients, such as the FRA, ELA, the EUAA or the European Commission. I have over 10 years of cross-sectoral experience in legal and policy analysis, research, project management and knowledge product development globally. Prior to joining Milieu, I worked as a Legal Advisor on International Strategic Litigation at the Dutch Council for Refugees, where I co-drafted over a dozen third-party interventions, individual applications, and interim measure requests in cases before the European Court of Human Rights and UN Treaty Bodies, facilitated preliminary ruling referrals to the Court of Justice of the EU, and worked on submissions before the Constitutional Court of Hungary and the Council of State of Greece. Previously, in charge of the Gender & Inclusion portfolio at the Constitution Building Programme of International IDEA in The Hague, my projects focused on building the capacity and facilitating the access of marginalized groups to constitutional reform processes globally, from Nepal to The Gambia. Prior to joining International IDEA, I strengthened the Criminal Justice Reform team of the Open Society Foundations and served in the governmental sector at the State Secretariat for Public Law at the Hungarian Ministry of Justice.I hold a Doctor of Law and Political Sciences degree from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, a Master of Laws degree in comparative law from the Central European University, and a Master of Laws Degree from Harvard Law School, as well as various specializations from Cambridge and Oxford universities and the European University Institute.
