ABOUT JESSICA WILLIAMS-HICKS

I was 13 years old when I got my first job coaching 3 & 4 year old boys & girl’s gymnastics. My time coaching in the gym grew further to teaching competitive dance companies and winning competitions. There are no words to describe the level of joy I felt after all the practicing and rehearsals, to see them perform on stage themselves or finishing their gymnastics routines! Through years of experience teaching those students, I was learning early to empower others. It was amazing to see their growth and development. Helping others and making a difference in their lives is an invaluable and humbling life experience that set the foundation for a career in HR….I just didn’t know it yet. Fast-forward in my career, during my time in Operations Management, I was asked to assist the Corporate Trainer in rolling out the training of the new core banking system to the corporation employees. Which, at that time, were employees, as we had recently completed the 8th acquisition of a local community bank to the organization. It was then, I realized the opportunity that was presented, and understood the most important asset of any organization is….the people. Over the course of my career as a strategic partner to leaders and team members, I’ve built collaborative relationships as a consultant and advisor. With an emphasis on employee relations and engagement, leadership and strategy, talent planning and acquisition, and learning and development, I’ve had the pleasure to positively impact the development of many employees and the bottom line. I’m an HR Practitioner, certified HRCI – Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with a Master’s degree in Business Management and Human Resources. Skilled and experienced in HR functional areas including; • Leadership strategy, recruitment, hiring, new hire orientation, on-boarding, talent planning, acquisition & retention, diversity and inclusion, training and development, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, and performance management. • Policy/procedural development, mergers/acquisitions, project management, process improvement, change management, P/L analysis; job description and classification; payroll, compensation and benefits knowledge. • Employment law and HR Policies to mitigate risk and liability exposure: regulatory compliance; discreet and ethical, with a strong commitment to ensuring confidentiality of personnel and company information. • Knowledge of state and federal laws… FMLA, EEOC, ADA, and OSHA, etc.
