ABOUT JOSHUA LEWKOWICT

I am a problem solver who enjoys working with people. I have a wide variety of experience from non-profit to government work to retail. I have enjoyed working in all these roles from a barista to internships at BBYO Inc and the US house of representatives. In these positions I have gained critical problem solving skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and the expertise of quickly adapting to any situation. In the house of representatives internship I would prepare memos for congressional briefings as well as conduct research to provide accurate, relevant, and up to date information on various topics related to legislative priorities as well as attend congressional hearings and briefings. while working in BBYO’s Immersive department I facilitated logistics for more than 10 international experiences focusing on participant retention. I worked to develop and maintain a customer service database managing information for hundreds of participants, organizing data and ensuring its proper storage. while working as a Barista at Paul French Bakery i developed my customer service skills through hundreds of daily customer interactions as well as learning to thrive in a collaborative environment in addition to my ability to successfully work independently. As a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in political science, my coursework has taught me how to apply the theory to the practical and utilize analytical thinking along with effective communication. I am also a resident of the Bethesda Moishe House, where I work on event planning, participant recruitment, and preparation for 16 programs a quarter for jewish young adults.In my free time you will find me hiking, kayaking, playing kickball, and doing trivia nights with my friends.I moved to DC about 2 years ago and have been loving the journey.
