I am a human-centered strategic design leader. I help brands discover, define, and design bold, innovative futures.My area of expertise for the past 25 years has been focused on using human-centered and business design methods to discover, define, and build new growth strategies that live at the intersection of market evolution and human relevance.I am passionate about leading teams and organizations in innovation work that encompasses the full spectrum of design touch points - physical, digital, and brand experience. My approach is an integrated discipline that combines human-centered research, strategic design planning, market opportunity definition, concept development & testing, and prototyping.Over the course of my career, I have cultivated a holistic design and innovation skill set, holding leadership positions at IDEO, Capital One, Keurig, New Balance, General Motors, Well Told (an Inc. Fastest Growing Company in the personalized home goods category), and currently at Bluedog Design.Additionally, I have founded a multi-disciplinary design, innovation, and strategy consultancy called Graphite Direction which served Fortune 500 companies, established brands, and rapid-growth startups across a diverse set of industries including consumer goods, sport & lifestyle, pharma & health care, and financial services.I hold a Masters in Design Methods (MDM) from the Institute of Design in Chicago and a Bachelors of Industrial and Interaction Design (BID) from Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, I was a Division 1 Varsity athlete in Rowing (Crew) and 2 year team captain.
