As a human and researcher, I find diversity in people, crops, and diets to be enriching and worth supporting. I love using the art and science of plant breeding to find new and better crop varieties to solve problems and diversify our world. Experience I can contribute-> In my research, I enjoy improving the efficiency of how plants and fruits are measured-> I am currently using (KASP) molecular markers to inform breeding efforts-> I am constantly learning new statistical code to share visually stimulating and informative figures based on complex plant and genomic data-> I like finding collaborators with the fundamental expertise to accomplish a joint goal that we couldn’t do alone-> I recognize the importance of being strategic, forward-thinking, and good-will-minded to stay competitive in tomorrow’s markets-> I have a strong work ethic that was sown in my early years on a family farm, and I strive to improve how I apply myself each day.
