This short excerpt from Theodore Roosevelt\'s great speech \"The Man in the Arena\", provides the foundation of my approach to life. I believe my best self is when I am involved and invested in a worthy cause while maintaining my social and family life. As a young professional, I have gained experience in the banking industry as a mortgage intern for Consumers Credit Union, and the outdoor retail and marketing industry through a summer marketing internship with the company Sawyer. Furthermore, I have extensive practice being adaptable and handling various emergency situations through my two years as a residential assistant at Hope College. When not occupied with work, I like to read or get outdoors with friends to cycle, camp, and surf. I am passionate about sustainability, clean energy, microfinance, and developmental economics. I desire to work for a company that operates ethically and with an environmental and social conscience.
