Done well, risk management gives ambitious teams the autonomy and confidence to move fast on the things that matter.I\'ve put this into practice across environments including a multinational insurer spanning 23 countries (QBE - based in Hong Kong); a technology platform through its journey from startup to ASX200 listing (PEXA); a VC-backed $3.5B digital asset unicorn where I built the function from scratch (Immutable); and an AI platform pursuing responsible deployment and ISO 42001 alignment in Insurtech (Cova AI, advisory).What sets my approach apart is the ability to translate across complexity. My training is in economics and systems thinking, not a single compliance discipline. This means I can move between engineering architecture and boardroom strategy, between regulatory detail and macro-economic trends, between what the lawyers see and what the strategists miss.Outside my day job, I lead No More Butts as Chair - a national environmental NGO accredited with UN Special Consultative Status and engaged in international policy negotiations on plastic pollution. I\'ve increasingly found myself drawn to the intersection of governance and public policy: whether that\'s engaging with federal regulators on reforms, contributing to international treaty processes at the UN, or connecting risk thinking to the policy decisions that shape industry.
