Jon Benninger is vice president and market leader at Informa Markets. He focuses on the strategic direction and growth of the company’s North American Health & Nutrition business, which includes Natural Products Expo West, SupplySide Global, Newtopia Now, Nutrition Business Journal, NBJ Summit, SupplySide Connect New Jersey, SupplySide Supplement Journal, SupplySide Food & Beverage Journal, SupplySide Fresh, Nutrition Capital Network, MarketReady Insights, and Beacon Discovery. Benninger joined the company in 1995 as the founding editor of Health Supplement Retailer magazine and has served as editor, publisher, group publisher, business development director, and vice president of business development prior to his current position. Benninger is a frequent speaker and moderator at industry events. He is active in many associations and advocacy efforts including as a current member of American Botanical Council Director’s Circle, American Herbal Products Association communications committee, Council for Responsible Nutrition communications and media outreach committee, and Women In Nutraceuticals Advisory Council. He also represents Informa on the Company Council of the International Association of Dietary Supplement Associations (IADSA). He is a past board member of Citizens For Health, past board member and president of Dietary Supplement Education Alliance, and past board member of Natural Products Foundation. He received the 2010 CRN Apple Award for Industry Service, the 2014 AHPA Visionary Award, the 2014 Natural Products Association Industry Champion Award, and the 2018 American Botanical Council \"Mark Blumenthal\" Community Builder Award. He served 9 years as trustee and 2 years as chair of the board of trustees for Sonoran University of Health Sciences and remains Emeritus Trustee. Benninger received his journalism degree from Arizona State University in 1991.
