HS Pharmaceuticals, LLC is a drug development company focusing on innovative immunotherapies for cancer treatment, as well as infectious diseases and infected wound treatment. Infection with antibiotic-resistant bacteria (e.g, MRSA and multi drug resistant (MDR) P. aeruginosa) is a common risk for patients with chronic non-healing wounds, burn victims and those undergoing invasive surgery, causing high morbidity and mortality. To date, there are no topical broad-spectrum antibiotics indicated for the treatment of complex, MDR skin wound infections. Therefore, we are working on complex infectious wounds applications to include MRSA, CRE, and VRE. Additionally, HSP is focused on a family of non-toxic, ultra-low-adverse effect silicate-based molecules with targeted anti-cancer activity. We draw on known Absorption, Distribution & Metabolism profiles of these molecular species and for which we have new insights into anti-cancer activity. Hence we have moved from the traditional model that identifies highly toxic anti-cancer agents and then understands their maximum tolerated dose, to one that finds well metabolized, ultra-safe molecules that can be administered without anticipated adverse effects at very high dose but that facilitate the body’s immune system to target cancerous cells.HS Pharma has licensed formulation technology from the Medical Research Council (MRC) of Great Britain, and continues to collaborate closely with MRC scientists in Cambridge: a particular joint interest between our groups is in a totally new treatment modality that may have broad efficacy across the cancer spectrum.While work is currently at the pre-clinical stage, drawing on a range of cancer models, we are finalizing formulation and further tests of our lead molecule; and anticipate human cancer studies to be ready for 2019.Thus our focus is on therapeutic applications to help people who are suffering with debilitating wounds and cancer.
