ABOUT JOEL KNIPPEL

I am a leader of large, complex, and successful teams and organizations, with over 20 years of experience in management and senior leadership positions across the private and public sector. I have a deep passion for the talent space broadly and how it can (and does) positively and significantly impact business results and success. I am also a closet economist and very much enjoy diving into labor market and demographic analysis. In addition, I have a strong background in HR operations, project management, vendor management, employment law compliance, sourcing, talent pipelining, and talent management, including my SPHR certification. Further, I am also proficient in various HR systems, such as Workday, SmartRecruiters, Visier, HiredScore, Paradox, and TalentNeuron.Outside of my private sector work, I am a career US naval officer with 22 years of service on both active duty and in the Navy Reserve, holding the rank of Captain (O-6). I currently serve as the Executive Officer (second in command) of the Navy Reserve\'s European Command (EUCOM) headquarters unit, and when I am at EUCOM\'s headquarters on orders, I support the J35 (Future Operations) department as a Joint Planner. I\'m fortunate to have commanded multiple units in my Navy career, leading numerous stellar Sailors, with tours as the Commanding Officer or Officer in Charge of MSRON 12 Det Bravo, NR LCS Seaframe NYC, NR CART, and NR USFF N3 COPS.
