ABOUT JOEL ACKER

Finance is often the “knowledge center” of an organization. In my time at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, I have served as a subject matter expert across several disciplines, assisting fellow employees directly or referring them to those with more extensive knowledge of the subject at hand. I made it a point of pride to foster meaningful connections across the organization for just such a purpose and I never sent anyone away empty-handed. The phrase I heard more than any other was “you know EVERYBODY!”Some key areas in which I have been a primary go-to knowledge source:• Data analysis• Forecasting & budgeting• Contracting with vendors and licensees • Financial systems• Procurement methods• Cross-departmental collaboration• Process documentationMy passion is to be the contributor who refuses to let a lack of know-how prevent valuable employees from doing their best work.
