About Joe Slowik
Cyber threat intelligence (CTI), detection engineering, and incident response leader with over 15 years experience across multiple domains, including industrial control system (ICS), operational technology (OT), and critical infrastructure environments. Previous roles range from team construction and leadership through high-level individual contributor functions. Currently focusing on applications of artificial intelligence to security alerting and detection development on open source and proprietary security datasets. Past experience covers domains ranging from offensive security operations to ICS attack trends to free-form threat intelligence research. Lead a team of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence subject matter experts to enhance and improve cybersecurity alerting on open and proprietary datasets. Improve and enhance artificial intelligence models for enriching and analyzing available data to arrive at actionable cybersecurity-related conclusions. Work with and solicit feedback from customers and partners to identify coverage and alerting gaps while enhancing detection methodology for the Dataminr cybersecurity product. Continue publishing and public speaking in support of general cybersecurity objectives and identifying meaningful applications of artificial intelligence to information security problems.
