After my younger brother Dave was killed in the Pentagon on 9/11, I was given a great gift-the opportunity to see how everything I have learned in my life could be applied to create something good. That was what the Pentagon Memorial experience was for me. As President of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, I led the nonprofit organization responsible for raising $25 million to design and build the Pentagon Memorial. The Pentagon Memorial is dedicated to the 184 men, women and children who were killed in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. In 2008, it became the first national 9/11 memorial dedicated in this country. I am looking to apply what I have learned leading the Pentagon Memorial Fund to help other organizations achieve their goals. I know how to raise money and develop partnerships with corporate donors. I can help an organization develop its strategic vision and goals and then put in place processes to effectively monitor the progress towards those goals. I can passionately communicate the purpose of the organization to all levels of stakeholders. I am an authentic leader, known for a collaborative style, and I create a supportive workplace environment.
