Using a risk-based security approach, transformed all aspects of the security strategy at Site C. Managed the security budget, saved over $7M in projected security costs over 2 years. Led a team of 40 security professionals. Designed and managed the installation of automated access control system (ACS) at a remote access point saving over $2M, by replacing security personnel costs from installation date to the end of the project. Redeveloped KPI’s providing measurable indicators improving security contractor performance and maintaining SLA’s. Designed an automated shift report summary template for all incidents and activities performed.Redesigned plans for upgrading the main access gate to Site C saving over $1M in projected cost whilst enhancing safety, security and ingress times that reduced commercial delay claims and worker complaints. Overhauled COVID-19 screening responsibilities replacing a healthcare provider with security guards. Installed additional guard kiosks; improved ingress times, enhanced guard safety, saving $1.5M.Implemented a bespoke ACS to track of workers on site. Card readers were installed in site offices and busses to assist with COVID-19 contact tracing, building occupancy tracking, and emergency muster lists. Modified security contract guard roles and responsibilities removing one supervisor role saving $550K p.a. Implemented an automated process for issuing access cards by uploading information from Govt. ID cards onto Lenel, minimizing erroneous profiles, and improving tracking of persons saving $200K. Researched, developed, and implemented a mobile ALPR system to monitor and investigate speeding on site (750% decrease over 6 months). The system can also detect unauthorized vehicles attempting to enter site. Responsible for Emergency Response Planning (Stoddart Creek Wildfire – May 23), and executive protection for public engagement sessions, site visits by the BC Premier, provincial ministers, and BCH executives.
