Working in the Commercial Management Team of BC Hydro’s Site C Clean Energy Project at Fort St John, BC, my responsibilities included- Leading Claims and Commercial management including review, analysis/evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of major claims on Main Civil Works (MCW) Contract. A CAD3.5 billion Earth fill Dam Construction Contract between PRHP (JV of Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc & Samsung Renewable Energy Inc.). Undertaking Claims entitlement/ validity, schedule/delay analysis, concurrent delays analysis, assessment of impacts and quantum, negotiation, and settlement- Review, update and implement Claims Management Guidelines and Procedures- Develop and lead claims avoidance and defense management strategies- Consolidation of senior management reports on Claims and Disputes- Supporting business case development for complex projects by reviewing alternatives, providing financial analysis, arranging executive review, and securing necessary approvals- Supporting the Contracts Department: advising on complex contractual/ commercial issues, contract audits, drafting/review of tender/contract documents, change orders, letters/correspondence- Working collaboratively with SCM/Contracts Managers and BC Hydro other cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Legal in the handling, assessment and settlement of claims and disputes- Participating in the training of Quantity Surveyors and Engineers-In-Training (EIT).
