ABOUT JESS MACFARLANE
My guiding vision is a world free from systems of oppression and rooted in community care.I have facilitated dialogues, trainings, workshops, and affinity spaces focused on race and racism since 2010. My approach is influenced by facilitation training through the Anti-Oppression Resource & Training Alliance (AORTA), study and practice of politicized somatics through generative somatics, and training as a CircleKeeper through The Restorative Center. As a consultant, I work with organizations to more fully embody their commitments to equity and belonging. I conduct equity assessments, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, summarize findings, and develop key recommendations. I partner closely with leadership to implement recommendations that will align organizational practices with commitments to equity. I have specific expertise in coaching white employees, managers, and leadership to live out their values in the workplace. Informed by my professional knowledge and personal lived experience, I weave my understanding of key concepts (e.g. racial anxiety) into a supportive coaching practice that is grounded in strategic solutions for my clients to be more authentic, values-aligned leaders.
