I am responsible for setting the strategic vision and plan for the 20 wildlife sanctuaries within my region. Collaborating with cross departmental senior leadership teams, I focus on increasing and diversifying educational engagement and visitation, managing capital projects, expanding trails and land, setting ecological management priorities, and fostering community partnerships. Key Responsibilities:Sanctuary Management: Ensure sanctuaries meet high standards for welcoming/belonging, visitor experience, customer service, facilities, property maintenance, and environmental stewardship.Promoting Equity and Inclusion: Ensure that all visitors, program participants, community members, and staff feel they belong at Mass Audubon. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and access through sanctuary Fundraising: Partner with the Development team to cultivate prospects and achieve annual fundraising targets. Take a lead role in key donor and foundation stewardship. Support capital campaign cultivation efforts. Advocacy: Develop pathways to advance policy campaigns with sanctuary constituents. Supported local efforts including the passage of the Community Preservation Act and the Urban Master Tree Plan in Worcester.Educational Programming: Partner with educational teams to meet community interests and support implementation of more than 500 onsite programs annually.Administrative Oversight: Ensure compliance with business office procedures and support federal/state grant administration.Staff Management: Develop and manage regional budget of ~$2 million, including 14 staff and 20+ properties. Develop staffing schedules, manage expenses to budget, oversee staff training, and foster employee engagement.Volunteer Engagement: Cultivate a sense of community with more than volunteers and steward them to higher philanthropic levels.Community Engagement: Lead on community and neighbor issues as well as enhancing brand awareness and local reputation.
