ABOUT JELLE DE RUITER

WHO AM I* My interests are very diverse, ranging from social psychology to corporate social responsibility, from technology to philosophy. This applies to my educational and professional interests, but also the sports I play and the people I hang out with. I used to be very technical, with interest in numbers and rational thinking, but during my studies I have become increasingly interested in social behaviour of people: how people interact, what influences their behaviour and how I can influence these group dynamics. I have put this into practice quite a lot in my extracurricular activities, which has given me a good amount of leadership experience. During my Bachelor Human Resource Studies I discovered that so much of managing people has to do with communication, that I decided I wanted to learn more about this in my Master\'s degree. For my first job I found something that made me go back to my roots a bit with a focus on numbers, but combined with the social and communicative aspects that I have come to love. While working in a consulting role for different clients I often noticed improvements not doing as well due to a lack of change management, especially communicating with people in all layers of an organization.*WHAT DO I HAVE TO OFFER* Besides my expertise in communication, human resources, and group dynamics, I have a very broad knowledge. I have always found it interesting to link different pieces of information together, and that is exactly what I will do when I work somewhere. Ideally, I would like to not only be able to think about the big picture, but also have a say in it. I am always optimistic, eager to learn, and analytical (not just about my work, but also in self-reflection).*WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR* I am looking for an environment that values me as an individual and allows me to develop the skills and knowledge I want to develop. Things I like to spend time on include discussing strategic direction, analyzing the best ways to implement a strategy, managing stakeholders during all stages of change, asking critical and provocative questions, and managing teams (preferably using an agile method like Scrum).
