WORK HISTORY
Board Treasurer @Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library
Brookfield, IL, US
First elected in 2019, I have been involved with the local library for over a decade. I am currently the treasurer, and as such, I am the prime touchpoint of the board when it comes to financial matters. Over the course of my involvement with the library, the most significant project has been the construction of a new library building. I was first involved with the project for a bond levy referendum. When that didn\'t pass in 2016, I was involved in the successful fundraising campaign that allowed us to break ground on the new building that has been in use for the last three years in the village of Brookfield, a Chicago suburb with a population of about people.\"The treasurer is a legal officer named to assure that the financial operations of the library are handled properly, including oversight of annual audits. The board treasurer should prepare or assist in the preparation of annual budgets and chair the finance committee.\"- Illinois Library AssociationOther trustee duties remain included.
