I remember how excited I was when my dad brought home our first computer when I was 12 years old (a Tandy hx). After digging in, I asked him if we could get a couple games. The next day he came home with a book on programming in BASIC and told me that if I wanted games, I need to write my own. That spawned my interest in engineering and technology. Programming wasn\'t offered at my high school or suggested in college, however I entered the job market during the dot com boom, which provided many interesting opportunities with unique startups. I eventually returned to school to get my Masters in Computer Science and graduated #1 in my class.
