About Jason C. Flay
Currently I am the President of a consulting firm in Lexington, KY. My firm specializes is conducting Cultural Resource, Geotechnical, and Survey projects for a variety of clients across the country. We have a nation-wide presence and service the federal government, state agencies, local municipalities, transportation, energy, and telecommunications markets predominately. Prior to starting my own firm I was the Director of the Cultural Resources Division at Jackson Group out of Richmond, KY. My duties there encompassed growing the cultural resource capabilities of the firm, client acquisition, project management, and managing the day to day operations of the cultural resources staff. Prior to working at Jackson I worked for RETTEW Associates, Inc.(RETTEW), an engineering firm based in Lancaster, PA, as staff archaeologist. Projects worked on were predominately for Oil and Gas based clients in PA fulfilling PHMC, USFS, USACE, PADEP; and FERC guidelines. I also worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Grand Junction, CO where in addition to my duties, interpreted sites for the public, conducted Native American relations with the Ute Nation, and acted as an agent of the Federal Government during repatriation of NAGPRA materials MA in Archaeology and Heritage from the University of Leicester focusing on directing cultural resource management department(s) and/or companies. BA in Anthropology from the University of Kansas Specialties: Phase I/II Archaeological investigations Phase data recovery, treatment, and mitigation plans Assessment and site formation studies NEPA, NHPA, and FERC compliance reports Section 4(f) reports Environmental Impact Statements GIS predictive modeling Prehistoric and historic material analysis Public outreach and coordination View shed analysis
