Jamie is an expert litigator with experience representing and advising a range of public sector agencies. She has extensive knowledge of investigations, evidence, criminal procedure and case strategy and is a skilled court advocate. As an experienced appellate advocate, Jamie has represented the Crown and Councils in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Jamie has acted in tribunal hearings for disciplinary proceedings and before the New Zealand Parole Board.Before joining the bar, Jamie was a Crown prosecutor for 16 years, and conducted complex criminal cases involving allegations of serious crime including sexual violation, Class A drug offending, fraud, and violence. She has appeared on applications and appeals in relation to preventive detention and extended supervision orders. Her cases have included complex legal issues, high-profile defendants, vulnerable witnesses and sensitive material.Jamie supports public sector clients to achieve regulatory best practice by providing practical advice including on issues related to charging, search and surveillance, privacy, disclosure and evidence-gathering. Jamie is experienced in environmental regulation and enforcement and regularly advises and represents local and central agencies in this area. She is a frequent presenter at the annual Environmental Compliance Conference.
