Manager - Substation Engineering & Design @Eversource Energy

Manager of a department of about 54 professionals supporting 5kV through 345kV electrical substation projects in the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts regions of Eversource. I am proud to work with a talented group of dedicated professionals. Our department includes Electrical and Civil Engineers, Designers, Drafters and Administrative support. Our Electrical Engineers serve as Project Engineers for capital and expense projects as well as Subject Matter Experts for the specification and application of substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, medium voltage switchgear, capacitors, FACTS equipment, instrument transformers, batteries, etc.), and the performance of various studies such as thermal ratings, ground grid analysis, lightning protection, insulation coordination, sound studies, etc. Our Civil Engineers are responsible for the civil/structural design and analysis of foundations and steel structures and short circuit analysis of substation buses. Our designers are responsible for the physical substation design, development of detailed plans/sections and development and review of wiring diagrams. Our drafters draft all drawings for substation projects, including checking of autocad drawing files developed by contracted engineering firms. Every drawing issued to our internal and contracted construction and test crews goes through our department. We are also responsible for ordering equipment and materials for substation projects.
