ABOUT JAMES ARROWSMITH

I\'m passionate about the positive changes that care services can make to peoples lives, and inspired by the innovative work being done to transform the way health and care services are delivered. Working with colleagues across key sectors (health, education and government), my focus is on supporting the operation and evolution of these essential services.I lead Browne Jacobson\'s Social Care and Risk team, working with a wide range of clients across the country to address historical and recent allegations of abuse and exploitation against a wide range of organisations. Bringing together key expertise, we support from initial allegations through to the conclusion of claims, and recoveries, including internal and police investigations, inquests and inquiries, employment and commercial issues, complaints, claims and redress. We employ a continuous improvement philosophy, and support clients to do the same in relation to resolving allegations and knowledge management for service improvement. We support clients in safeguarding and risk management, from working with them to understand and mitigate organizational and procurement risk, to leading investigations focused on delivering real improvements. We are strong proponents of ADR as a means of resolving disputes and are experienced in developing schemes in collaboration with victims\' representatives to deliver redress in ways which minimize distress, delay and cost for all parties. I have co-authored a book on ADR in relation to injury claims. I have a long history of working with insurers as well as their policyholders on insurance coverage issues, including in relation to historical abuse allegations.
