ABOUT JAMES ALVIS

An ambitious, engaging and inspirational professional. Cerebrally agile, solution-orientated and thrives in either a team environment or when working alone. With a successful track record in education, coaching, sports development, business and media, I am person and process focussed, performance oriented and driven by achieving positive outcomes and excellent results. A former professional rugby player, who since retiring from playing has demonstrated career progression and the implementation of effective and lasting change and high levels of achievement within a range of working environments. I established \"TEAM\" in 2011, having spent the formative years of my career in competitive sport and education, I now operate as a consultant within these marketplaces working with a portfolio of clients. In conjunction with my early teaching career (between 1994 and 2001), I played professional rugby (Union & League), in Wales, England and South Africa.A distillation of my skills and experience to date, would be- A qualified coach since 1994 (earning my RFU Level 3 Coaching “badge” in 2005), I have coached rugby, with demonstrable success at School, Club, County, Divisional and EPDG level, since 1988- A qualified teacher since 1994, I have worked in both the State and Independent sectors in various roles including Director of Sport and Head of Examined Physical Education- A player centered, performance orientated and results driven sports coach, with over 30 years of experience in coaching, developing high-level performers and structuring bespoke performance development programmes for departments, teams and individual performers- A Radio Presenter, Broadcast Sports Journalist and Sportswriter.
