As a Senior Project Manager within Southern Water’s Major Projects team, I play a key role in the successful delivery of the £1.2 billion Hampshire Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project (HWTWRP) aimed at securing long-term water resilience across Hampshire and the wider South East. This is a flagship programme of national critical infrastructure involving complex engineering, regulatory, and stakeholder challenges.I am responsible for leading the delivery of specific packages within the programme, from planning and design through to construction and commissioning. This includes managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing contractor performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and driving delivery in line with cost, schedule, quality, and environmental targets.Key Responsibilities Include: • Lead the delivery of assigned workstreams or packages within the HWTWRP, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives. • Manage contractors and consultants under NEC contracts, ensuring performance is monitored and contractual obligations are met. • Maintain effective project governance, risk management, reporting, and change control in line with Southern Water’s PMO standards. • Coordinate with engineering, environmental, planning, procurement, and legal teams to ensure integrated delivery. • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including regulators (e.g. Ofwat, Environment Agency), landowners, local authorities, and customer engagement teams. • Lead on project assurance, including HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality), ensuring all work is carried out safely and sustainably. • Monitor and manage project budgets, cashflows, forecasts, and cost reporting with support from commercial and finance teams. • Support continuous improvement and innovation, contributing to best practice and lessons learned for future programmes.
