Josh Castaneda joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in February 2020, following an 11-year career in the United States Navy, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Josh understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.A graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Josh holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in South Carolina, California, and Texas.Active in his community, Josh is board member of the South Carolina Region of the Sports Car Club of America. In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and working on cars.I don’t believe in shortcuts to financial security. I advocate time-tested financial principles including prudent and responsible debt management, disciplined saving and investing and a thoughtful insurance strategy for managing financial risk. As an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR), I am held to a fiduciary standard, required in all cases to act in the clients’ best interests.First Command Financial Services was founded in 1958 by a retired Air Force officer for the specific purpose of improving the financial well-being of military professionals and their families.
