London, GB

My role as a Lead Technical Architect at Adthena involves designing and building new innovative solutions for the competitive intelligence industry. I work at all stages of software development from ideation to final delivery. I also lead a team of data and platform engineers who work with me on building products and tools our customers love.As an architect I get the chance to experiment with various technologies and write prototypes that we can then turn into working applications. This allows our team to be confident that we always choose the right tool for the problems we\'re trying to solve.I am deeply involved in the development of the products I design and architect. Our engineering department is small and I work together with the team on different technologies covering quite a broad stack. I am involved in front end, back end, security, DevOPS and system administration.I have participated in due diligence efforts both from the side of Adthena when talking to potential investors as well as when Adthena acquired Adgooroo.I like helping people get better at their jobs and so when I find time and motivation I also try to blog. Some of the most used technologies at Adthena are:Back end: Java and Scala with different libraries and frameworks (Play Framework, Akka, Dropwizard, etc.), Python and bash scripting. I use Spark, Cassandra, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, RabbitMQ, ELK Stack, Airflow, Kubernetes and EMR on a daily basis.Front end: React and others.System administration: Ansible and Terraform to manage and provision hundreds of machines on AWS and other cloud providers. We also use Docker and Kubernetes standalone and on EKS for building micro services.I care a lot about efficiency, high performance, beautiful code and architecting the right solution using the right tools for the job.
