ABOUT IMRAN SIDDIQUI

I am currently a Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Medical Education at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU, and have an academic journey marked by a commitment to medical education and expertise in assessment and teaching. As a medical graduate (MBBS), I pursued a master\'s degree with a major in Biochemistry, followed by a PhD in the same field. Further enhancing my qualifications, I obtained another master\'s degree in health professions education from the joint program of the University of Maastricht and Suez Canal. With over twenty-five years in university teaching positions in the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Education, I played a major role in establishing four start-up medical schools, contributing to the development of integrated, problem-based undergraduate medical curricula and directing courses in the pre-clerkship phase.Following my tenure as the Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Head of the Assessment Unit at the College of Medicine in the Middle East region, I transitioned to a role in healthcare licensing and accreditation in the Gulf region. Joining the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, I served as a Senior Test Development Specialist, later rising to the position of Director of Postgraduate Medical Education. My responsibilities included the management and improvement of a wide range of specialist healthcare licensing exams, spanning medicine, nursing, and dentistry.Throughout my career, I have remained rooted in academic medicine and effective education. Joining the faculty since the inception of the school, I have progressively assumed leadership roles. Currently, I serve as the Vice-Chair of the Department of Medical Education and the Course Director of the largest course in Phase 1,\"Mechanisms of Health and Disease\"(MHD). In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I lead the oversight of Pre-clinical MHD exam design.
