ABOUT IGNAZIO NIOSI
I am a highly motivated Biomedical Engineer with a strong academic background in biomaterials and biofabrication. My expertise lies in the engineering of biodegradable and biomimetic biomedical devices, with a particular focus on tissue engineering strategies for regenerative medicine. I have specialized in advanced fabrication techniques, including electrospinning and 3D bioprinting, leveraging bio-inks and robotic platforms to develop innovative scaffolds and biomaterial-based solutions. My research experience encompasses the synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of natural and synthetic biomaterials, tailoring their properties for biomedical applications. I have conducted in-depth structural, mechanical, and rheological analyses using scanning electron microscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis, and numerical modeling to optimize their viscoelastic behavior. My primary objective is to advance the field of biodegradable and biomimetic biomedical devices, particularly in the cardiovascular sector, where innovative biomaterials can revolutionize the design of bioresorbable heart valve prostheses. I am deeply committed to bridging the gap between material science and translational medicine, contributing to the development of next-generation cardiovascular implants that enhance patient outcomes. My work objective is to continue to push the boundaries of biomaterial science. Research is what we have to believe in!
