ABOUT HENRY HONG-YIU CHEUNG

Henry is a senior design executive with 25 years of experience building design organizations, driving zero-to-one innovation, and scaling major products at global companies, including Meta, Amazon, and IDEO. Most recently, he served as Head of Design at Meta’s People Engineering organization, where he focused on integrating emerging technologies (AR/VR, AI/ML) into candidate recruiting and employee experiences. He directed design teams at Amazon across Entertainment Devices and Last Mile, building Fire TV and Alexa AI integration serving its +50 million customers, and Amazon Flex, the navigation app that powers over delivery drivers. Henry is passionate about enabling business innovation, cultivating learning-driven teams, and creating meaningful customer experiences. His leadership spans from sprinting with specialized teams in fast-moving environments to scaling organizations of 40+ designers, all while fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and excellence. He believes that inspired and empowered teams drive meaningful innovation and sustainable impact. From pioneering zero-to-one innovations to refining and scaling flagship experiences, Henry is dedicated to bringing products to life. His work has led to multiple pending patents and recognition in publications from the New York Times, Metropolis, Azure, and Innovation magazine. Beyond product and design, Henry is an avid cyclist and martial arts practitioner. He has been to over 20 countries meeting people from all walks of life, from the underprivileged to royalties. Henry is an United Nations recognized World Pilgrim, a distinction given to those who completed a 600-mile Camino de Santiago in Spain and the Kumano Kodo, a sojourn to the origins of Japan.
