As a Senior Product Software Engineer focused on Android, I play a pivotal role in shaping our mobile user experience. This position requires a strong blend of my technical expertise in Android development, leadership capabilities, and a forward-thinking approach to platform evolution. I am instrumental in driving the design, development, and integration of innovative features, modernizing our codebase, and ensuring the overall quality and performance of our Android application and SDKs. Key responsibilities include- Implement new user-facing features for the Android application- Integrate new features and functionalities into existing SDK components, ensuring robustness and scalability- Execute the migration of features from legacy C++ codebases to modern Kotlin, improving maintainability and leveraging modern Android development practices- Integrate Android features and components into Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) SDKs, contributing to a unified codebase across different platforms- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices- Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth within the team- Define and advocate for technical standards and best practices within the Android team- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the existing Android codebase, including bug fixing, performance optimization, and addressing technical debt- Collaborate closely with product managers and other engineering teams to define feature specifications and technical requirements- Contribute to the overall mobile application architecture, making key decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance- Stay current with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies, evaluating their potential adoption.
