ABOUT GINA VILLANI

I’m driven by a clear mission to help create healthcare experiences that are seamless, human-centered, and grounded in operational excellence. That purpose has guided every chapter of my career, across corporate strategy, venture capital, innovation leadership, and frontline operations.Whether building cultures of innovation, shaping enterprise strategy, or investing in new models of care, I\'m passionate on solving problems that drive measurable impact and real-world change.I began my journey at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where I advanced through leadership roles in Service and Operations before joining Zaffre Investments, the corporate venture arm. There, I sourced and led investments in early-stage healthcare startups, gaining first-hand insight into the startup ecosystem and the future of care delivery.Motivated to drive change from within, I joined the BCBS Innovation team, embedding design thinking and empathy-driven problem solving into organizational culture. My work helped pilot and scale initiatives that aligned with strategic priorities and enhanced the member experience.In 2021, I was recruited into a system-level strategy role at Lee Health System, leading enterprise strategy development and service line planning to position the health system for long-term growth and differentiation in a rapidly evolving market. And most recently, I\'ve joined the CVS Health Strategic Initiatives team to support growth and long term strategic planning.I hold an MBA from UMass Boston and a BA in Psychology from Bridgewater State. Outside of work, I’m a wife and a mom, a weather nerd, a mediocre runner, and a Disney fan who believes in the power of creativity (and a little pixie dust).
