Currently teaching AP Human Geography and have started the AP African American Studies class at Martin High School. While at Martin High School, I have been the Head Coach for the Girls Track and Field Program, assisted students in starting and sponsoring the school first Black Student Union, coordinated and lead the Italian Exchange, and additional STEM international trips and started the African American Studies program in the school and the district.As the Coordinator of the Italian Exchange program, I actively work with a language school in Udine, Italy. Yearly I find create ways to recruit and the select students to participate to host Italian students and travel to Italy in addition to the building of the itinerary in Arlington, TX and in Italy. I work with the coordinators in Italy to ensure success yearly.I am currently teaching AP African American studies, after starting an on level African American Studies at Martin High School, which has since spread to all high schools in the district. I developed the curriculum for African American Studies class, than worked on the district cadre with other teachers to develop the district curriculum for the on level African American Studies to align with the states TEKS. I currently am responsible for promoting both classes yearly.I have worked in leadership positions at the district level in the capacity of leading district level training for World Geography teachers and African American Studies while working on Cadre.
