ABOUT GEORGE EID
I\'m a systems thinker disguised as a storyteller. For more than 30 years, I’ve helped organizations align who they are with what they build, so progress compounds rather than fragments.I\'m the founder/CEO of AREA 17, a brand, experience, and technology company based in Paris and New York. Since 2003, we\'ve partnered with influential organizations navigating complexity, including OpenAI, Nike, Balenciaga, Getty, Google, and The New York Times. In 2008, I began incubating products within AREA 17 to turn emerging technologies, new behaviors, and internal learnings into new capabilities. Since then, we\'ve developed and exited several products. Most recently, I led the creation of Twill, an open-source CMS used worldwide. My path wasn’t linear. I began in theatre and documentary film, chasing the human story, before turning to technology. That’s where I learned that systems shape behavior more than intention alone. Design isn’t decoration. It’s behavior. Technology exposes what you actually stand for.I speak and write about technology that enhances life rather than distracts from it. I\'ve spoken at Centre Pompidou, Triennale di Milano, and SXSW, and contributed to AdAge and Branding Magazine.I\'m Jordanian-American, raised in the U.S, now living in Paris with my wife, daughter, and dog.
