I have extensive expertise in regional innovation measures, university-industry relations and technology transfer practices and I have an RTTP (Registered Technology Transfer Professional) certificate. As an academic, I have over 200 publications, three patents and I am the holder of 1989 Turkish Scientific and Technological Council Incentive award in Bioengineering. I served as the founding head of the Ege University Bioengineering Department until 2017 and have been involved in over 75 projects - 25 EU supported projects and 50 national and international projects on biotechnology, R&D and innovation support, as a coordinator or partner. I have acted as evaluator for projects under different programs -EU FP 7, EIT Health, InnoStars, EIT Jumpstarter, RIS Innovation Capacity Building and I am on the CaixaImpulse Innovation team of experts.I was the National Coordinator for two European Patent Office supported projects “Increasing the IPR Awareness in Turkish Universities” and “Pilot Project for Re-structuring Pat-Lib Centers”.I am currently involved in international activities, representing USIMP on ATTP Board, AUTM International Strategy Committee West Asia- MENA Chapter, ASTP- NAAC National Associations Advisory Committee.
