ABOUT ESHNA JASH
My scientific journey is driven by curiosity about how cell identity is established, maintained, and reprogrammed, and how understanding these processes can improve human health.I earned my Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Michigan, where I uncovered a novel role for the XOL-1 kinase in regulating epigenetic marks during development, including its control of sex-based differentiation. As lead scientist on two projects, I designed and optimized experiments, analyzed complex datasets, and synthesized findings into cohesive biological narratives. This work resulted in two first-author publications and three co-authored papers, and helped me build an interdisciplinary skill set spanning computational genomics, CRISPR, imaging, and functional assays. To bridge my training in basic biology with therapeutic applications, I interned with the Computational Genomics team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. I analyzed RNA-seq datasets to study gene expression and splicing patterns, gaining hands-on experience in how integrating experimental and computational approaches can inform early-stage drug discovery.I am now a Research Fellow in the Marasco Lab at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My work focuses on advancing stem cell reprogramming strategies to improve outcomes for aged patients with hematological malignancies. Using single-cell computational analyses, multicolor flow cytometry, and functional assays, I study hematopoietic stem cells and translate fundamental discoveries into preclinical studies that can support IND filings and next-generation cell-based therapies.
