MerchandisingAllocation EnhancementsI\'m leading a team of data scientists whoare applying Machine Learning models andoptimization tools to enhance Kohl\'s existing allocation product. This team is responsible for quickly assessing enhancement opportunities, testing initial solutions, and working with the Allocations product team to get them into production.MerchandisingRepenishment OrderingMerchants for a few categories came to the Merchandising product team and suggested that improvements in replenishment ordering would increase efficiency and allow them to increase revenue. l analyzed sales and inventory data and concluded that a margin growth opportunity existed. A product team including engineering. UX design, and Data Science was formed. I paired with another product manager since lI was still on the Merchandise Ordering team as well. We completed discovery and defined an experiment which included a data science tool for determining replenishment needs and a new user experience. The experiment is currently being developed.MerchandisingMerchandise OrderingMy team retired a legacy order creation product by developing a cloud-based solution then worked with the Assortment Building and Execution team to integrate our products in a manner which enables merchandise ordering to become an automated activity that gets run as the last step in the planning process. This automation increased process efficiency by double digits as a percent of labor effort. We also developed a services-based approach for providing ordering data to the new Machine Learning allocation tool.
