Serving as the visionary and dynamic leader of Solve M.E. while driving organizational growth and advancing our mission. Responsibilities include strategic leadership, financial management, board governance, spokesperson, advocacy, patient engagement, media relations and communications. Oversees budget and program design for all organizational activity including:Advocacy/Government Relations:• Implement multi-year advocacy strategy, including potential legislation. • Lead and collaborate on all substantive advocacy discussions across the ME/CFS, Long COVID and related illness communities• Lead and collaborate on all developments at relevant federal agencies.• Track and advocate on all federal budgetary developments that impact on ME/CFS and Long COVID funding.• Identify and maintain good relations with key congressional staffers.• Implement/Oversee online patient advocacy platform, integrated into CRMPublic/Media Relations • Develop a Public Relations plans to manage all media relations; cultivate media coverage/sources; maintain media database, with the goal of expanding general public awareness of both our organization and the disease. Work with others in the community as appropriate.Engagement• Conceive and implement programs to significantly increase Solve M.E.’s engagement with new patients and their loved ones, including designing new programs • Support patient-driven projects.• Support presentations/speechwriting for live events• Develop and implement plan to engage and manage volunteers to support our organization.Fundraising• Oversee and support all organizational fundraising including major gifts, online campaigns, grant writing and managementResearch• Working closely with the Chief Scientific Officer, deliver research breakthroughs, seed the field for future investment, and elevate lived experience experts in research advisory roles.Organizational Operations
