For as long as I can remember, I have loved learning about history and sharing it with others. Every family trip centered around a museum, and most books I read took me deeper into the past. I entered college knowing that I wanted to study history and received my degree in history with minors in art history and museology at SUNY Brockport. After college, I found that the greatest joy I received at work came from interacting with others, while making their experiences easier. Whether in a medical office, where I was helping someone begin their process; in a museum, where I was providing donations to local schools; or in higher education, where I was running events for students and the community, I found myself striving to help. Over the years, I’ve seen that my degree was so much more than history or museums, it was about the connections made with others.
