As the Assistant Product Design Manager at Meijer, I lead the review and approval of fabric submissions from vendors, providing detailed feedback for improvements. I meticulously inspect Top Of Production samples and collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure they pass all necessary tests before approval. My role involves creating flat sketches for Falls Creek, Cold Weather Accessories, and Women’s Seasonal collections, complete with detailed call-outs. I also attend fittings in my manager’s absence and schedule sketch hand-offs with the Technical Designer for new seasons. Additionally, I color all sketches using PANTONE colors and create digital color boards prior to seasonal shopping. I develop line boards using Adobe Illustrator, maintain comprehensive tech packs, and enter all relevant information into the BOM. Regular store visits allow me to observe product placement and performance. I manage the Cold Weather Accessories, Seasonal, Men’s Footwear, and Women’s Footwear categories, ensuring each product line meets our high standards.
