I oversee the Stewarding department in Colorado\'s largest Hotel, The Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center. I work closely with my team and leaders in Engineering, Food and Beverage, Culinary and Banquets to ensure all business functions in each area are executed in a safe, and sanitized way. My team is responsible for all prepared food movement in the convention center area of the hotel and the equipment to do so. We run food for an average of 15 to 20 catering functions per day. I have more than 50 hourly STARs (Gaylord Rockies Employees) along with 20 to 30 contract labor staff daily, that are under my direction. This team is responsible for all dish washing operations, waste removal, recycling, cleanliness and organization of our convention center and a banquet kitchen and 7 fully operational F&B hotel restaurants/outlets, and our Stars cafeteria. I support the OS & E needs for the culinary department in all areas. I also work closely with Engineering leadership to care for and maintain multiple pieces of equipment. I am forklift certified and perform warehouse duties when needed, including but not limited to unloading trucks, stacking orders up on shelves, and moving large things around property. I provide key stakeholder data to senior leadership, and I have supported the training, education, development, transfer, and promotion of many hourly employees. I am a big picture strategic and forward-looking thinker who takes a proactive approach to challenges and operations. I am passionate about my work and a compassionate and empathic leader for my team. After opening the Gaylord Rockies, my team, and I were instrumental in closing the resort during Covid and re-opening it. I have been with Starwood/Marriott for 19 Years; this is my 7th hotel.
